About OneWay Taxi

We're a Tamil Nadu drop-taxi operator built around one simple promise: you pay for one way only. No return fare. No surge. No surprise charges at the destination.

Why "one way only"?

Traditional outstation taxis charge for both the outbound trip and the empty return — even when you're only travelling one way. Across Tamil Nadu's long-distance corridors (Chennai → Madurai, Coimbatore → Bangalore, Trichy → Rameswaram), that doubled the bill on most bookings.

We built a network where drivers heading back to their home base after a drop are matched with the next outbound booking on the return route. The driver gets a paid load instead of an empty run; you pay only the kilometres you actually travel. That's it. That's the whole model.

How we're different

  • Transparent per-km pricing published on every route page before you book — not after the trip.
  • Flight-tracked airport pickups — the driver waits 45 minutes free from your actual landing, not the scheduled time.
  • Driver bata, fuel and the one-way drop are included in the headline fare. Toll and parking pass through at actuals.
  • No night doubling. A 2 AM pickup costs the same per-km as a 2 PM pickup.
  • Driver vetting — commercial driving licence, valid vehicle insurance, All India Tourist Permit where the route requires.

Our story

OneWay Taxi started with one observation: families travelling from Chennai to a Madurai wedding were being charged for the return run even when the driver was heading back to pick up the next Madurai → Chennai outbound. The arithmetic was broken. We rebuilt the dispatch around it.

Today we operate across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with a focus on long-distance corridors where the one-way savings matter most — typically ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per trip on common routes like Chennai ↔ Coimbatore and Chennai ↔ Bangalore.
