This Privacy Policy explains how OneWay Taxi ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information you share when you book a one-way drop taxi with us. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian regulations.

1. What we collect

When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or our booking form, we collect:

  • Your name (so the driver can identify you at pickup)
  • Mobile number (for booking confirmation and driver coordination)
  • Pickup and drop locations
  • Travel date, time and vehicle preference
  • Flight number (only for airport pickups, to track arrival time)

We do not collect government IDs, payment card data, or financial information directly. UPI/card payments (when used) are handled by the operator's payment gateway, not by this website.

2. Why we collect it

  • To confirm your booking and assign a driver
  • To send pickup ETA, driver details and trip updates by SMS / WhatsApp
  • To respond to support requests and resolve complaints
  • To comply with legal obligations under the Motor Vehicles Act and DPDP Act

We do not use your data for advertising profiling. We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

3. Who we share with

Limited to what's strictly required to complete your trip:

  • The assigned driver receives your name, mobile number and pickup/drop locations
  • Payment processors (only if you pay by UPI/card) receive transaction amount and reference
  • Government authorities on a valid legal order (RTO, police, court)

4. How long we retain

Booking records are retained for 12 months from the date of the trip, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Records subject to a legal hold (active complaint, regulatory request) are retained until the matter is closed.

5. Your rights under the DPDP Act

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate details
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Grievance redressal — escalate concerns to our Grievance Officer
  • Withdraw consent — stop further processing (existing bookings will still be honoured)

6. Cookies

This website uses minimal cookies — only those required for the site to function (e.g. session continuity). We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or cross-site tracking on this domain.
